My name has changed on my passport, what do I need to do?

Updated

To avoid any issues or disruption to your travel plans, you're advised to have a valid passport with a minimum of six months before expiry.

If you need to renew or obtain a new passport in the U.S.A., then you should do so at least 6 months in advance to ensure you receive your passport before your departure date. Please be advised that the U.S. State Department currently has a 4-month processing time due to receiving nearly 400,000 monthly requests.

For other country passport holders, you're advised to check with your government State Department / Home Office / Foreign Office for more exact passport issuing lead times.
